Lesser-known actress Katie Cassidy has beaten out some stiff competition for the role of Lucy Ewing in the upcoming film version of the TV show Dallas. The 7th Heaven actress and daughter of teen idol David Cassidy won the spot over both Jessica Simpson and Kristin Cavalleri. "Producers wanted to steer clear of the drama and also thought Katie was simply better for the role," a source told US Weekly. Jennifer Lopez, who will play Sue Ellen in the movie, was reportedly pushing for an unknown to fill the role. "She's hoping for a no-name actress," the source said. "Jennifer doesn't want a diva on the set."
