Peter Cook, who had kept silent about his affair with a nineteen-year-old until now, had his lawyer contact Cindy Adams of the New York Post to say the following: "This is an aberration. I'm sorry. I'm contrite. I'm stupid. Foolish. No excuse... I love my wife... For a lifetime I've tried to prove how much I love her." Cook is reportedly hoping for a reconciliation with his Cover Girl wife, but says he will respect her wishes. "He hopes there is no divorce," Cook's lawyer said.
