The online blogging community is going crazy today with news and photos from Britney Spears's hair-raising Friday night. Employees of the Tarzana, California, salon where Spears underwent her transformation have surfaced and are speaking to the media. "She just looked in the mirror and said with tears in her eyes, 'Oh, my God, I shaved it all off. My mom is going to be so upset with me,'" said the salon's owner, adding that Spears complained that her extensions were "very tight and uncomfortable" before shaving her head. "We have no idea how she found us," said a salon employee. "She just walked in and said she wanted to shave her head. [The owner] has been in the business for 30 years and said, 'I'm not doing that.' But Britney was set on having her head shaved so she started doing it herself... I don't know what's going on in her head, but she obviously is not very happy deep down, but she thought it would make her happy to have her head shaved. She didn't say if she liked it or not, but she thought it would make her happy do it so she did."
Ubritney.com has posted a statement allegedly from Spears's manager Larry Rudolph that reads, "Britney has been through a tragic thing that hopefully will never happen again, shaving her hair a sort of theraputic thing for her... Britney knows that she needs help and is already going through counseling, she knows what needs to be done and is slowly re-building herself step by step." It isn't specified what "tragic thing" Rudolph is referring to but it could be the recent death of Spears's aunt from cancer. Other internet rumors suggest the popstar was recently raped. Let's hope this second allegation isn't true.
Update #2 - This story was posted on the community gossip site Oh No They Didn't this afternoon:
"My uncle is a nurse at CSMC and texted me 10 minutes ago saying Britney Spears was admitted an hour ago. He's going to text me when he finds out why and any more information. I'm scared! I don't know what's going on with her." The blogger updated her post soon after, saying, "I don't have many details. My uncle called and said she just left. He didn't see her or deal with her, one of his friend co-workers was around her for a minute. Somebody she with brought her there and admitted her. His friend said she acted like she wasn't 'there' and seemed disturbed. Because it's confidential, he doesn't know what she was admitted for or what she saw the doctor about, but because she's already gone home, that usually means nothing major. Oh, almost forgot, she was wearing a dark colored wig." Please remember none of what is reported in this second update has been confirmed as fact.
