Isabel Toledo's Payless High Ghillie Heels Are Something Alright

($39.99, Isabel Toledo, Payless.com)
What's black, and yellow, and crazy all over? Isabel Toledo's crazypants High Ghillie rugged cut-out Oxford Mary Janes with a yellow lug heel. They're bad because they're... well... nuts, they're good because they're Isabel Toledo and therefore fun, and thus a walking paradox.

BTW, the red ones are only available at Colette. But if I WERE to wear them -- and I'm not sure even I would (and that's saying a lot) I'd go with the yellow ones.

DISCUSS!

Payless Is Just Kidding About These, Right?

I have nothing at all against Payless. Not one thing. They do some great stuff at obviously affordable prices. And I loved their Christian Siriano line as well as Abaete. You need that ONE pair of shoes to match that ONE dress you'll wear to someone's rehearsal dinner and then never wear again? BOOM. Payless. But everyone slips up and makes a mistake once in a while, right? Like, surely these hein-dog silver "hooded" wedges are just a mean joke. A prank, right?

($24.99, Fioni, Payless.com)

Remember, kids. Everyone makes mistakes!

Studded, Structured, Sequined Shoes For Fall!

It's time for a... Fall shoe binge! Check these selects -- studded, structured heels and booties I'd buy if you were footing the bill.
($129, Steven By Steve Madden, Piperlime)
I know. I need more studded stuff like Kanye needs more exposure. But I can't resist these fun "Stardom" flats.

($24, Pink Footwear, Lulus)
Black oxfords = So simple, so cheap, so... something I will inevitably go back and buy in a week after much pointless deliberation, so I may as well just buy them now, right?

($585, Giuseppe Zanotti, Piperlime)
I need more '80s throwback heels like Fergie needs more bronzer, but I can't resist these black suede eyelet-covered Giuseppe Zanottis.

($110, BCBG Girls, Dillards)
Uh, blue suede, cone heel, fun '80s grommets? BCBGirls "Border" heels = YES.

($49.99, alice + olivia for Payless)
Don't you love how Payless can get low, like Flo Rida style? These alice + olivia "Robertson" peep-toe jeweled boots are sluttastic in the BEST POSSIBLE WAY. Next stop? Bootswitdafur!

($26.99, Payless)
Black lacquer heels at PAYLESS? Girl, you is NASTY!

($26.99, Payless)
Payless, girl, you are BAAAAAAAAD! And it feels GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!

Payless Fall 2008 Designer Collection: Payless Gets Sluttttay!

The Payless designer collections aren't really me, but I applaud their step in the va-va-va VAMPY direction.
($38, Lela Rose for Payless)
That bow at the heel says "I won't NOW, but ask me later, and I MIGHT."

($48, alice + olivia for Payless)
4.5 inches of trannylicious, open-toe (of course), patent leather fun. Also see: Fergie!

($48, alice + olivia for Payless)
A little less daunting at 3" high. I like the '80s-inspired back zip. Ankle boots are, in the words of the Pussycat Dolls, hot hot hot for fall, y'awl. And yes I DID just quote PCD.

($30, Lela Rose for Payless)
I'm not huge into clutches, but I do love the tortiseshell action and big stitching here! Yay!

Laboring To Find You Cheap Shoes Today!

I've been cooped up in the house for much of this weekend, working and watching Mad Men. And when I haven't been engaging in the latter, I've been scoping out the shittons of sale emails I've been receiving. Lots of cute fall shoes on sale this Labor Day, or so my inbox thinks. Observe:

Payless Mocs: Worth the $25?

You decide!

($24.99, Payless)
They're cute, classic, and cheap, but I still <3
my butter-yellow Minnetonka ones which, since I bought them last month, I've barely taken off my feet except to go sleep. Me, not the shoes. No rest for those bad boys!

The Proliferation of Payless Cuteness!

I haven't stepped foot inside of a Payless (get it? GET it?) for quite some time, but I'm definitely seeing cuteness online, both within their designer collections and "pedestrian" stuff (har).

($17.99, Payless)
I know. I can't believe I'm coming close to condoning something that comes close to being gladiator-esque, but I like that these don't overdo it with extraneous strappage. And the single diagonal strap is flattering, expeshully if you gots the wide feets.

($35, alica + olivia, Payless)
I really loathe a square heel, however, (don't you love how everything comes with apprehension?), I applaud the loud, fun colors. Someone out there could rock these. I ain't volunteering though. (Note: that someone also probably wears way more makeup than I do and tucks her penis... but that's cool!)

($21, American Eagle, Payless)
Cute, innocuous boat shoes in a variety of colors. And why spend a lot when you know they're gonna need to be tossed due to rank-ness at the end of the summer, you knows?

($19.99, Payless)
If you're gonna own/ wear all-white shoes, they may as well be fun and slightly slutty! Also cute like so:

Oh, but Payless, you'll giveth and you'll taketh away with that very same hand. Vile.

... But... more cuteness: check out the proposed looks for the Fall '08 alice + olivia for Payless collection (photos via Nitrolicious):

More here at Nitrolicious... And check out their coverage of the Abaete for Payless collection, which I might like even more:

Footwear Friday

Okay, here's a Freaky Friday Fun Fact: I really don't like ice cream much. Something about the salt content and how all that soda makes me crave gallons of water for a freaking fortnight. But what I DO like is cone heels. So, let's begin, shall wes?

Ahhh the Lanvin cone heel -- the daddy mack of them all. J'adore! They're not easy to get your hands on, but I did find a pair of the blue ones, and if you're a size 40, you're in luck.

($567, Lanvin, Marissacollections.com)
Sure, they're totally unwalkable, but if you're spending that kinda cash on heels, you probably can afford cabs. There are also a handful of pairs on eBay.

($278, Hugo, Zappos)
A gorgeous alternative to Lanvin, and they're patent leather too! Two trends for half the price of one!

($75, Na Na, Piperlime)
These are gorgeous -- and gorgeously priced -- in black too, but the olive is really unique.

($125, Vince Camuto, Piperlime)
The snakeskin, peep toe and chunky heel combine to make this shoe a sexy stunner.

($398, Tapeet, Zappos)
Another great chunky-heeled version in a metallic.

($28, Delicious, Lulusfashionlounge.com)
Simple, sexy, super affordable = sold.

($17.99, eBay)
Really can't argue with the price here.

($175, Report, Piperlime)
Simply beautiful.

($171, Fornarina, Zappos)
I'm not too into snakeskin, but I could certainly make an exception for these.

($138, daniblack, Zappos)
And I could absolutely make an exception for these...

($201, Via Spiga, Zappos)
Love the cut of these. They're sorta '80s rich-girl prepster in the best possible way.

($72, Pink Studio, Lulusfashionlounge)
How can you even tolerate how cute the polka dos are? Normally rosy tan and light blue is so vomitoriously kountry kitchen, but it works so perfectly here. A great work shoe.

($185, Miss Sixty)
I could probably do a week's worth of posts on Oxfords alone, but these are also great work wear.

($442, Costume National, Zappos)
As are these. Ultimate power bitch banker heel. Woo!

And her opposite, the fun-lovin' hippie kid sister who comes to visit for the weekend and leaves crumbs everywhere.

($171, Fornarina, Zappos)
Fun and festive.

($25, Abate For Payless)
My Lord I love high-end/low-rent collabos!

... And finally... my two faves...

($175, Report Signature, Piperlime)
Oh yes. Yes yes yes. Oh yes indeed.

... And...
($625, Pucci, Net-a-porter.com)
Possibly the most best shoes ever in the universe and history of all shoes forever and ever amen.
