Urban Outfitters MADE Me Buy These Black Boots! + PROMO CODES!

DAMN, you Urban Outfitters. You led me right back into temptation again, didn't you? Knowing full well that I'm nearly powerless to you. Especially when you dangle a promo code in front of my nose.

While shopping for THIS awesome gift for my husband (I don't wanna post it directly because he reads this from time to time), I kinda had to get myself a reward of some sort for finding him such an AWESOME present.  Enter, these black leather hiking boots!

($88, Ecote, UrbanOutfitters.com)
I love the wooden stacked heel and the metal D-rings. Hopefully they'll deliver in the cuteness category once I receive them.

($39.99, Cooperative, UrbanOutfitters.com)
I also fully support these really sweet Sherpa-lined Cooperative black boots with a stacked heel. They're on sale!

AND promo code "HEREYOUGO" saves you $25 on $100 and more. GET IT!

I Want These Shorts, But Not That Badly

I mean, I'm about to buy two plane tickets. Probably don't need to buy the silk shorts, right? Even if they're on sale and I can get an extra 20 percent off?

J.Crew "Dejeuner" silk shorts, $47.99 with code "EXTRA20" through Thursday.

Hot, though. You get 'em!

Someone, Quick, Get Married!

Cause I really wanna wear this to a wedding. Or a cocktail party. Or...dinner? Can I just buy this JUST BECAUSE? And/or just because Rachel Roy is having a 30% off friends and family/people on the Internet sale? Cause I really like it.

Rachel Rachel Roy pleated dress with crossback, $109 - 30% = $76.30. Yeah, I think I can buy it.

Also, can I pull this off?

Rachel Rachel Roy lattice drop-waist jumper, $129 - 30% = $90.30.

A final safe bet:

Rachel Rachel Roy lattice top, $89 - 30% = $62.30.

The Total Franklin Street Immersion, Y'all

I am somewhat weirdly excited about what's in store (pun intended!) for me this afternoon. My friend Amy and I, and with any luck our man-friends, will be hitting Greenpoint for the Total Franklin Street Immersion, a come-to-the-neighborhood push that involves a punch card, store discounts, and drink specials.

Drinking and shopping on a sunny Saturday! What could be better? I'm psyched. Read all about it at Brooklyn Based, who planned the whole shebang.

I'm hoping Dalaga has these cute swingy shorts, $58 (with 10 percent off today) and that they look cute on me. (UPDATE: They did, and they do.) I'm also looking for a change purse (didn't find), some new sunglasses (ditto), and maybe a new book at Word (I got Let the Great World Spin and The Girl Who Played With Fire). And it's 30 percent off at Binge enabler Hayden-Harnett (I got a skirt and a dress from their Cheap Thrills Pop-up Shop or whatever it's called for a grand total of $70...cheap thrills indeed!). Wish me luck!

I'm also hoping they don't run out of beer (I only got one mini beer, and even though I filled out my entire card, I didn't get a tote bag of gifts because they ran out.) Free Brooklyn Summer Ale!

See you on Franklin Street! (I'll totally be back.)

Cutie Bootie Alert At Nine West

($59.98, Ninewest.com)
Just when I decided I'd try to start being so good about not buying stuff, this Nine West blue and black suede "Bobbit" bootie gives me the come-hither stare. Then its half-off status tries to give me sex lips. Ugh. Fine. You win.

Also, FYI, donate $1 or more in store or at NineWest.com to St Jude Children's Research Hospital, and you'll get a coupon for 20% off any purchase in January.

Rich & Skinny Boutique Goin' Down At Rue La La RIGHT NOW!

($142, Rich & Skinny, Nordstrom)
Guise! Despite the fact that I'm not technically skinny and CERTAINLY not rich, I absolutely LOVE Rich & Skinny jeans, which were designed by some of the former brainchildren behind Seven for All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity, and Joie. They're super slimming, give me extra length (which I DESPERATELY need), they're slightly stretchy without venturing into Mom territory, and really sleek and COMFORTABLE! They kind of remind me of William Rast but FAR more wearable.

I've got Rich & Skinny's Sleek Straight Leg Stretch jeans, which are not SO cheap (but they don't break the $200 mark), BUT, HIIIIIIIIIIIII you can get them for like $79 at RueLaLa RIGHT NOW! So go go GO! If you need an invite, hit me up in the comments, 'kay?

... And check out the Rich & Skinny selection at SmartBargains -- lots of high-waisted flares, if that's your thing. And, watch the fun Flash models at RichAndSkinnyJeans.com. They walk around and stuff! Hee.

(What Comes Around Goes Around)

OH: PS, happy Valentine's Day! I got a subscription to In Touch! FTW!

Callalilai By Aoyama Itchome Sale ... Dresses From Mr. Rogers' Land Of Make-Believe!

Good news, all you fans of Callalilai (by Aoyama Itchome). First of all, the shop has finally gone online, so even if you can't hit up the Brooklyn Heights store, you can buy online! Also, they're having a stooooopendioso sale!

A few ejemplos, clase:

($125, Callalilai By Aoyama Itchome)

($71, Callalilai by Aoyama Itchome)

($71, Callalilai By Aoyama Itchome)

($71, Callalilai By Aoyama Itchome)

($159, Callalilai By Aoyama Itchome)
This could actually look really hot with some opaque black tights, black booties, a few long layered chains, and a black blazer.

Callalilai styles definitely aren't for all of you, but they've got a really nice, ethereal feel and their use of bold color and pretty piping kinda remind of the royal garb Queen Sara Saturday and other inhabitants of Mr. Rogers' Land of Make-Believe wore:
Also, not even kidding, you can BUY Land of Make-Believe handpuppets!!!

($12.95, Holgate Toys)

Everyone else, score big with Gargyle's online sale:

Amazing and wonderful.

($195, Rachel Comey, Gargyle)
Ridiculous and wonderful.

CRAZY-Good Deals At MAC Online!

Get 25% off EVERYTHING (except Viva Glam, because that goes to CHARITY, holmes) at MAC online, okay? Promo code: MACFF9, expires at 11:59PM EST tonight.

I HIGHLY recommend MAC's Mineralize Eyeshadow Trios in Word-of-Mouth (left) and Threesome (right). They're $17.50 each, but they're biggies, and they go a long way. The blue/grey shade in Word-of-Mouth (which I contend should NOT be hyphenated, BTW), is nice and subtle, and the copper stripe is bold and luscious. I've pulled off a nice sub-smokey eye with it.

Speaking of smokey eyes, check out the chocolate smokey eye tutorial from Spektra.net! You could easily pull off something similar with the MAC shadows above (though I'd suggest going easy on the iciness near the brow -- a bit too '90s -- and using the pinky shade in Word-of-Mouth instead).

Heart Shirts And Blondette Sale!

Admiring on this Lauren Moshi heart tee at Blondette.

($85, Lauren Moshi, Blondette)
BTW, Blondette's giving you 25% off $150 or more with promo code afterchristmas08
through January 3. KNOW that.

(Apprx $43 USD, Illustrated People, Topshop)
Also LOVE this very '80s but not like OMG WOAH LQQK IT'S NEON Illustrated People top at Topshop. It reminds me of the crap Madonna spray paints in her "Borderline" video. Sadly it's only available in size Small on the British site and NOT AT ALL on the US site. INTERNATIONAL TRAGEDY!

Scanty's Holiday Trunk Show At Fred Segal Fun -- This Saturday, December 20th!

I have some raging, unbridled jealousy issues when it comes to you West Coasters who can just pop into Fred Segal Fun, but I'll put that aside for a sec to inform you that over-the-top-comfy PJ and loungewear label Scanty is holding a holiday trunk show this Saturday, December 20th at Fred Segal Fun in Santa Monica from 1 - 4pm.

Scanty's stuff hangs just right and is perfect for all seasons -- not oppressively hot but keeps you snugabugaboo and actually, somehow, magically manages to be a bit sexy and not "oh hai, look at all the fuzzy bunnies marching across my legs."

Go pick up something comfs for those last-min loves on your lists (or for ME!)

($53, Scanty)
