Man Fashion: Are You More Savvy When Come to Men Fashion?

In this financial turmoil, I am sure everyone are cutting down to their spending on men fashion clothing, so the first and direct impact will be all the big guys on the streets. Some of the stores reported sales was down by 30% as compare to last year, and this even expanded to most of their online stores too, Gucci, Guess, D&G, DKNY you name it.

It does not mean people are cutting down their buying, but just some change of buying habits. SourceWire reported that Men’s discount designer fashion website sees a 20% increase in traffic during this period.

Managing Director of Fashion Hunt, David Card comments on the increase in visitors:

“People are still spending money on the things they want, they are just being a bit more savvy when it comes to where they buy. The Fashion Hut has seen a 20% increase in visitors because people can buy designer fashion very reasonably, shoppers are changing the way they shop and discount stores are benefiting from that.”

So are you more savvy and change your buying habits lately? Give your opinion in my poll.

Man Fashion Designer: Alexander McQueen Latest Fashion

If you think of any fashion designer in Europe, the first that strike my mind is Alexander McQueen. With his countless provocative shows and outrageous designs, Alexander McQueen has created his style as the "Bad Boy" of fashion. The designer's potent mix of creativity, controversy and technical mastery has earned him three British Designer of the Year awards as well as a faithful celebrity followers such as David Bowie and Prodigy's Keith Flint.

Spring 2009 Collection

In 1996 he was named the role of chief designer at Givenchy. Feeling creatively stifled by the couture house, whose founder he dismissed as "irrelevant," McQueen left Givenchy in 2000 and has since joined the Gucci group.

Man Fashion: Gucci 8 Limited Edition Beijing Olympic Designs

As we know, the Olympics are being held in Beijing this year. Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini created a line called 8-8-2008. Her eight (totally over-the-top) souvenir items were designed to celebrate this year's events.

Of course, the one that caught my eye was the "China red" cruiser ($3420)! Besides that, the line includes a $3150 Mahjong set, a panda bear stuffed animal, dog tag necklace, two pieces of luggage, a red wrist banded digital watch (the brand's first digital timepiece) , and red suede sneakers for both her and him.

Huang Xiaoming is also the first Asian model for Gucci. He's looking pretty good in the ads, too! But if I had a choice, I'd definitely choose the bike over him.

I did some research and the number "8" means prosperity in Chinese. These items are only sold in Gucci stores in China and Hong Kong.

Man Fashion Show: Gucci SS 09 Review

Typical summer shades seemed far from the minds of numerous designers at the beginning of fashion week.

That was, of course, until Frida Giannini injected some unbridled life into the proceedings.

At Gucci, bold stripes and elaborate florals were found on ultra-slim pants and variegated styles of that true Gucci-jacket which now seems ubiquitous.

Giannini aimed to convey 'youth and luxury' – which also meant soundtracking the show with indie-favorite 'Time to Pretend' by MGMT.

Not only is Giannini reminding us of the archetypal Gucci aesthetic, she is also making clear her distinct lack of vision for the development of this line.

It's Tamron, Bitches! The Celeb Edition!

I'm back, and even more back than Britney, because, let's be real, that weren't much of a comeback. But speaking of celebs, I couldn't resist throwing up a few famous faces, so let's get back to bingeness, shall we?

I actually loved the detailing of the custom-made Alice Temperely dress Nicole Scherzinger wore to the VMAs, but once the eye hits below the waist, it's like you can have mini-dress-length or floor-length, but not both, dear. (Photo via Popsugar.)

While MANY a fashion blogger put the hate out on it, I loved this ethnic-print dress that Beyonce wore to a press conference in Vegas during VMA weekend, but for the LIFE of me, I can't find any mention of who designed it. Any takers??

While Beyonce's VMA dress looked like some pixie-esque Maria Von Trapp yoinked the gold curtains down off the stage of some dusty '40s cabaret, quickly draped them around Beyonce's bootay-licious curves and pushed her out onto the red carpet, her little sister Solange looks like she took a quick trip to the Chanel Factory Seconds Outlet in Crazy Town, somewhere on North Jupiter, Space. She looks like a fucked-up Mars 2112 hostess or something. And while she looks prettier than I remember -- she used to look like the black Haylie Duff -- I attribute this to Dr. 90210. (Photo via Just Jared).

I absolutely adore this Gucci color-block dress that the always-polished Rachel McAdams, shown here with her brother (who's hot but sorta reminds me of that guy Adam Scott on that new show "Tell Me You Love Me," which I really like so far, and NOT just because it has TONS of sex, though that really helps, but yeah, I can't tell if that guy on that show is hot or not...) wore to the Toronto Film Festive premiere of her new movie, "Married Life." She truly does not need to look thinner, yet the red band of this dress does just that. (Photo via Popsugar.)

OMG. Why the FUCK is Melissa Joan Hart on the red carpet at the VMAs? Is this the same dress she wore to the VMAs in 1992????? I don't care that she had a kid -- there is NO excuse for mom hair!!!!! (Via Popsugar.)

It's quite nice to see Amy Winehouse NOT looking like a career Dumpster diver, yet it's fairly jarring and odd to see her carrying pretty flowers, living things! How did the toxic waste site that is her booze-soaked body not kill them on contact? Anyway, more power to you. Hopefully you'll clean up swiftly and get back to wearing Brownie outfits with live-owl shoulder pads, as in better times.

"Hello? I am actually hot or just hot because I'm on TV?"
