Pete Doherty doll comes with mini crack pipe

A Pete Doherty doll is drawing criticism from anti-drug groups who slam the doll, More Barred than Barbie, for glorifying drug use. The likeness of the British rocker features a tiny crack pipe that lights up when pressed against the doll's lips and also comes with cigarettes, a mini guitar and a syringe. Anti-drug campaigners from the group Just Say No are concerned the doll may encourage young music fans to experiment with drugs, calling the toy "very irresponsible." The makers of the doll have not commented.

Ryan talks Rachel

After a few years of playing coy about their relationship, Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams have both spoken publicly about their romance. McAdams told Elle in a recent interview that the Half Nelson actor influenced her film choices, and Gosling told press yesterday, "She's kind. She doesn't need any help from me. She's inspired me to do so much as well." During a press junket for his new film Fracture, Gosling said, "She's the most discerning person I've ever met. She'll read a script 100 times. She's relentless." And of McAdam's Elle cover, the Oscar nominee said, "Oh...yeah... She looks stunning! Absolutely - yeah!"

Dannielynn's baby daddy to be revealed this week

Howard K. Stern was forced to drop his bid to block the release of the results of DNA tests that will reveal who the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby is. Stern's lawyer withdrew the motion after learning that a Bahamas court would reject his appeal. Three judges in the case advised that Stern had filed his challenge too late - waiting a week after submitting his own DNA sample before filing the appeal. The Supreme Court is scheduled to hold a paternity hearing tomorrow, and we should all find out who Dannielynn's baby daddy is sometime this week.

Paris mocked in ad campaign

A Manhattan storage company mocked Paris Hilton in a series of ads that recently appeared on phone kiosks, portraying a Chihuahua alongside the slogan, "Your closet's so shallow, it makes Paris look deep." Hilton's publicist notified her lawyer when hearing of the slam, who sent a "cease-and-desist" letter to the storage company.

Avril says Britney only has herself to blame

Avril Lavigne has spoken out about fellow popstar Britney Spears's recent troubles, saying the Toxic singer can't blame the media for her problems. "What's happened to Britney is all down to who she is as a person," Lavigne says. "If you want a piece of this business you have to be able to deal with it. You can't complain about the pressures, the paparazzi, the madness because that's the job."

PIA'S ARM CANDY

"IF a woman is investing in a handbag, then it has to be the best quality that it can possibly be, otherwise it's just cheating the customer," says Pia Tonna , whose namesake handbag collection won the UK Trade & Investment "Passport to Export" government-backed award for "Exceptional New Exporter" on Thursday night. "I am so excited to have won this - the Piatonna brand is now being sold in 23 countries and will be moving into Harrods, Fenwick and Pia TonnaFortnum & Mason for the first time with our autumn/winter collection." After studying fashion in the UK, Italian-based Tonna worked for fashion houses including Paul Smith and Chanel. "In the back of my mind I always wanted to design and one day I approached my manager at Chanel with my tail between my legs. I let her know I was going to start my own business and expected to get fired on the spot, but she was incredibly supportive. I stayed at my position there until the design side grew too large to focus on both jobs." Inspired by the fine craftsmanship of vintage designer clothes, Tonna's bags don't skimp on the details – quite the opposite. Totes feature several different types of animal skin – python exteriors, soft deerskin on strap undersides and laminate leather linings. "I love to spend hours at leather trade fairs to hunt out the most unusual skins. I don't care how much it costs, it has to be exceptional quality and it has to stand out. Handbag labels have such stiff competition now. I try to make mine as beautiful and original as possible." Bright rope piping and lasered gold leather inside bags do indeed add a luxurious touch to Tonna's products. "My favourite detail is the little cowbell on the side. It detaches, so you can use it as a keyring, and it's a useful way to find your bag if it's lost under a pile of coats. I know that because we were celebrating after the awards and having had a few cocktails, the bell came in handy!"
